How your plate gets made

  • 1. Type it and pick the size

    Up to four lines. The preview shrinks the letters to fit, or pick a letter height and we flag anything that will not fit.

  • 2. We check it before it is cut

    Every plate is checked for fit and spelling. If a line will not engrave cleanly at that size we email you before anything is cut.

  • 3. Engraved in Phoenix, shipped by FedEx

Custom engraved plastic nameplates, answered

What material is this?

1/16 inch two-color laminated plastic, the same engraved plate that specs call phenolic, lamacoid or laminated plastic. The top layer is one color, the core is another, and the lettering is engraved through the top so it cannot wear off. UV stable for outdoor gear.

How is the price figured?

By plate size: $0.60 per square inch with a $3.00 minimum, so a 2 x 8 inch nameplate is $9.60 and a 4 x 4 is $9.60. The price updates as you change the size. Stock legends and bulk schedules are quoted lower through the placards and nameplates page.

Adhesive or screws?

Every plate ships with 3M adhesive on the back. Pick "Adhesive + rivet holes" if the equipment or your spec calls for screws, and we drill the holes before shipping.

What colors can I get?

Black with white letters and red with white letters are always in stock, with blue, gray, white, yellow and orange plates available on the picker. The usual spec rule is black for normal power, red for emergency and fire alarm, and a third color for UPS or standby.

How fast does it ship?

A few plates ship the same day from Phoenix by FedEx. Big runs ship in 72 hours after your order. Free shipping on orders of $100 and over.

No. Send the panel schedule or an Excel list through the quote and we build a line-by-line proof from it, in your order, so nothing is retyped by hand. This page is for one plate or a handful.
