Lithium-Ion Battery Room NFPA 704 Placard, Rated to Your Fire Marshal's Direction
Energy storage rooms, battery backup rooms and lithium-ion charging areas are being placarded under the fire code, but NFPA 704 does not publish a fixed rating for lithium-ion cells. The rating is set by the authority having jurisdiction, usually the local fire marshal, based on the battery chemistry, the quantity of stored energy and the room's suppression system. This placard lets you order the exact numbers and special hazard text your AHJ specified.
How to order: add the placard to your cart, then enter the Health, Flammability and Instability numbers (0 to 4) and any special hazard text, such as "Li-ion" or "W", in the order notes at checkout. The placard uses the standard NFPA 704 diamond layout with blue, red and yellow quadrants and a white special hazard field, sized for exterior doors and equipment enclosures.
