NFPA 704 0-0-0 Diamond Sign: No Health, Fire or Instability Hazard
Post a 0-0-0 NFPA 704 diamond on storage areas that hold non-hazardous materials so inspectors and fire crews can see at a glance that nothing inside needs special handling. Common 0-0-0 materials include water, sodium chloride (salt), sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), calcium carbonate, sugar, sand and many inert powders and food-grade ingredients. A 0 in every quadrant means: Health 0 (no hazard beyond ordinary material), Flammability 0 (does not burn), Instability 0 (stable). Confirm each material's rating against its Safety Data Sheet, Section 16.
Why post a diamond for a harmless material? When a facility placards every chemical room, a missing diamond looks like a missing rating. The 0-0-0 sign closes that gap and keeps your hazard communication program consistent.

Where This Sign Goes
Salt and brine storage for water softening, food ingredient rooms, dry chemical storage for pool and spa maintenance, warehouse racking for inert products, and any placarded building where a room holds only non-hazardous materials. For inert gases such as nitrogen and argon, use the SA (simple asphyxiant) versions instead.
